3 Weeks Already!

Yesterday Bryker had his 2 week well baby check (a week late) and he is definitely one well baby! They didn't give me the percentiles so I looked them up so who knows how accurate these are. But he weighs 9 lb 13 oz which puts him  between percentile 75 and 90 and he is still around 22 inches so he is above percentile 95 in length. I found the chart at babycenter so hopefully it is accurate. So according to these charts we have one BIG little boy! We are loving every minute with him!
Some highlights from B's first 3 weeks:
-absolutely hated his 1st bath

-absolutely loved his 2nd bath and all the rest of them
-Mommy has been sleepin on the couch for the last 3 weeks and last night was the first time she didn't sleep on the couch at all! We, mainly I, haven't been too great about making him sleep in his bassinet or crib so the only place he will really sleep is in his little vibrating chair or on mom or dad. So our goal is to do better about trying the crib out-wish us luck! {He slept for 20 minutes in his crib woo hoo!}
-He is one smilely baby and I love it!
-He is in size one diapers
-He took his first trip to the library with mom-hopefully many more of these to come!
-He takes a pacifier thank heavens!
3 weeks old

He is one handsome boy!
-He does pretty good in his car seat {love this picture of my boy!}
-He loves his daddy and has him wrapped around his little fingers
-He took his first little trip out to go see Aunt Breawna and then his first real one when we went and ran some errands. No trip to church yet but hopefully we can sneak in for Sacrament soon

We love our little B man more than we could ever say!

pictures from my dad's camera

I just found these pictures almost 3 years later! {backdating} I hadn't seen them before and I'm glad I didn't. The pictures of Bryke's little cone head and then with the wires on him when he was in the NICU brought tears to my eyes, I can't imagine seeing them while dealing with all the birth stuff too! The time that he was in the NICU is a blur to me so to see pictures of it is kind of crazy.

Welcome to the world little B man!

I can't believe our little boy is a week old already! Time has flown by! Here's Bryker's story... Thursday morning we called in at 6 and found out they had room for us. Getting to the hospital was kind of a blur because we were so nervous. We got there around 7 and got all checked in. They hooked my up to Pitocin right away and then around 8:30 they came in and broke my water-what a weird feeling! Then the waiting began.
   It took awhile for the contractions to start coming but once they did holy smokes it was pretty intense! They came really quick and intense with not much of a break. I got checked around 1 and thank heavens was at a 4. I felt like such a baby for getting my epidural when I was only at a 4 but that Pitocin makes for some pretty bad contractions. So I got the epidural-which was not what I thought it would be at all. It was pretty painful just to get it but then it worked wonders! It was crazy to see the screen go crazy when a contraction came but  not to feel anything. We hung out for a couple hours but I was still at a 4 or 5 so the nurse had me switch sides every 15 minutes for an hour and in that hour I went from a 4 to a 9! They called my Dr and started to "labor down"-which means they let the contractions bring the baby down as far as he'll come before starting to push. So I started pushing around 5:30 or 6 and didn't stop til 8:05! That was the longest 2 hours of my entire life. I was so lucky to have the greatest nurses and dr.s and of course the greatest husband ever. They kept me going because I didn't think I was going to make it. I was positive my epidural had worn off because I was sure feelin' alot!
    But I made it through and at 8:05 pm Bryker T Darrington was born. He weighed 9 lbs 3 oz was 22 inches long and his head was 15 cm!! No wonder it took 2 hours-our little man wasn't so little! Right after he was born he had to go be monitored because he was having a little trouble adjusting to breathing. So he spent some time in the NICU but everything is good now and he is breathing like a champ!

I can't believe how much our lives have changed in the last week-what did we do before we had our little B man?! We are so blessed to have him in our lives!

Bryker had jaundice and had to live in this "suitcase" bili bed from Monday until Wednesday. It was pretty awful! He had to be in there as much as possible and in only his little diaper. We thought he was going to freeze! I was SO thankful when they called and said that his levels had gone down.

Dear Grandma Kris,
Thank you so so much for coming and helping my mom and dad take care of me! They appreciate it more than they could ever say! My mama is one lucky lady to have you for her mom and I am even luckier to have you for my grandma- I can't wait to see you again!
Love, Baby Bryker

Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya tomorrow your only a dayyyy awayyyyy!!!!

First of all take a look over to your right at our baby countdown there should be a - in front of the number as in negative, as in over my due date! I seriously don't know how some ladies go over 1 or 2 weeks. 1 day and its killing me! But I am one lucky lady as {tomorrow} is hopefully our big day! Were supposed to call in at 6 am and see if they have room for us and then head on over.
I'm not sure what is worse, waiting for labor to start or knowing that tomorrow it is definitely going to start. I have been one nervous little (well not so little) lady all throughout today. The first thing that comes to mind and scares me to death is getting the stupid IV. Terry thinks I'm crazy that thats what I'm worried about, probably any of you who have had a baby and are reading this are thinking the same thing. So I figure I'll just take it one thing at a time. One rough day in exchange for forever with our little man, not too shabby! Wish us luck!
